Tong Wenmin was born in 1989 and graduated from the Oil Painting Department at Sichuan Fine Arts Institute (SCFAI), China in 2012. Tong has participated in residency programs and performance festivals in Poland, Hungary, Australia, Israel, Iran, Thailand, Hong Kong and Macau. She currently lives and works in Chongqing, China.

Tong’s work focuses on the encounter between people’s perception of what is hidden from us in our everyday lives and the realities we actually face.Through her work, Tong makes our poetic states of mind emerge in action by embodying the vulnerability of religious beliefs and the unreliability of our thoughts. Tong explores ‘wild thinking’ and the meaning of modern life.
